.NET SQL Server API First Security Focused
Software Developer career at Brilliance One

Role Overview

Build software businesses depend on.

We are looking for a .NET Software Developer who can help design, build, maintain, and improve the applications, APIs, services, database systems, and platform capabilities behind Brilliance One.

Applications

Application Development

Build maintainable web applications, internal tools, services, modules, and user-facing capabilities using modern .NET development practices.

Data

Database Performance

Design schemas, write efficient SQL, build stored procedures, troubleshoot performance issues, and help keep customer data reliable and responsive.

Quality

Security & Reliability

Write resilient, secure, testable code with attention to performance, authorization, auditing, maintainability, and long-term platform stability.

What You’ll Help Build

More than a single application.

Brilliance One spans customer relationship management, business operations, content management, communications, automation, commerce, reporting, security, and industry-specific workflows.

CRM & Sales Accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities, customer history, activities, pipelines, and sales workflows.
ERP & Operations Products, inventory, projects, scheduling, accounting, POS, purchasing, vendors, and operational workflows.
CMS & Digital Experience Websites, content, forms, portals, knowledge resources, customer experiences, and API-driven delivery.
Communications Email, SMS, MMS, campaigns, customer conversations, automated communication, and compliance-aware messaging.
Automation & Intelligence Workflows, business events, notifications, reporting, analytics, integrations, and AI-assisted capabilities.
Industry Modules Specialized capabilities that extend the core platform into industries with unique workflows and compliance needs.

Engineering Philosophy

Build for today. Architect for tomorrow.

Brilliance One is intended to grow across industries, modules, integrations, customer environments, and increasingly complex business workflows. The codebase has to support that growth without becoming impossible to understand or maintain.

  • Keep architecture understandable
  • Prefer maintainable solutions over clever ones
  • Design APIs deliberately
  • Protect data at every layer
  • Think about scale before it becomes a problem
  • Write code another developer can support
  • Measure performance instead of guessing
  • Test meaningful business scenarios
  • Document architectural decisions
  • Improve existing systems instead of only adding features

Developer Mindset

Shipping code is only part of the job.

Good engineering considers what happens after deployment: security, performance, supportability, diagnostics, data integrity, backwards compatibility, maintainability, and the people who will eventually work on the code.

We want developers who think about the system, not just the ticket.

Qualifications

Experience matters. Problem solving matters more.

We value formal education and professional experience, but the ability to reason through problems, write maintainable code, communicate clearly, and continue learning is equally important.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience

One or more years of software development experience using .NET technologies is preferred.

Problem Solving

Strong analytical ability and the willingness to investigate problems beyond the obvious symptom.

Communication

Ability to explain technical decisions, document work, and collaborate effectively with technical and nontechnical teammates.

Ownership

Willingness to take responsibility for code through development, testing, deployment, and production support.

Continuous Learning

Comfort learning new platform capabilities, development techniques, security practices, and technologies as Brilliance evolves.

Duties & Responsibilities

What you will help own.

Application Development

Design, develop, maintain, and improve applications and services using .NET, ASP.NET Core, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

Database Engineering

Design and optimize schemas, queries, stored procedures, indexes, and data access patterns while protecting integrity and performance.

API Development

Build and maintain secure APIs for internal applications, websites, mobile experiences, integrations, customer systems, and partner services.

Deployment & Operations

Help deploy and maintain applications, investigate production issues, monitor behavior, manage configuration, and improve operational reliability.

Code Quality

Participate in code review, write meaningful tests, debug problems, improve existing systems, and help maintain consistent engineering standards.

Performance

Identify bottlenecks in code, SQL, APIs, application architecture, and infrastructure while improving responsiveness and scalability.

Connect Brilliance One with external applications and services while considering security, reliability, error handling, and maintainability.

Collaboration

Work with product, support, design, leadership, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.

Documentation

Maintain technical documentation, API references, architecture notes, setup information, deployment guidance, and development procedures.

Security & Compliance

Build security into the system.

Brilliance One handles important customer and operational information. Developers are expected to think about authentication, authorization, auditing, data protection, validation, error handling, logging, APIs, database access, and secure defaults as part of normal development.

  • Authentication and authorization awareness
  • Role and permission enforcement
  • Input validation and safe data handling
  • Logging and auditability
  • API security
  • Database access control
  • Testing of security-sensitive workflows

Secure systems are not created by adding a security review after the application is finished. Security decisions happen throughout architecture, development, testing, deployment, logging, data design, and operations.

Development Process

Build. Test. Improve.

1

Understand

Understand the business requirement, existing architecture, security implications, affected data, and expected behavior before changing the system.

2

Build & Validate
